What to Do With Your Kids' Old LEGO®

The kids have outgrown it and the bins are taking over the basement. Here are your options for old LEGO®, from passing it down to selling it for cash.

Almost every family hits this moment: the LEGO® phase is over, but the bins are still there. Before it sits in the attic for another decade, here are the options.

Keep some, sell the rest

Many families keep one or two favorite sets as keepsakes and sell the rest. That's a great middle ground. We're happy to buy part of a collection.

Pass it down or donate it

Younger cousins, schools, libraries, and community programs often love donated LEGO®. If it's mostly basic bricks and you just want it gone to a good home, this is a feel-good option.

Sell it yourself

You can list sets on marketplaces yourself, but be ready to identify every set, count missing pieces, photograph everything, answer buyer questions, and ship. For a big collection that can mean dozens of hours of work.

Sell it to us, all at once

We buy the whole thing (built sets, broken-down sets, minifigures, and mixed bins) and handle all the sorting ourselves. In Central New Jersey we'll come pick it up, pay cash on the spot, and your basement is clear the same day.

A quick tip before you decide

  • Don't take apart built sets just to sell them; built is fine.
  • Set aside minifigures and anything still in a box; those are worth a closer look.
  • Don't throw out instruction booklets or boxes. They help us identify sets.
